North Carolina has had its swashbuckling moments! Explore our state’s early history and find out why pirates set their sails for the Carolina coast.

• See Knights of the Black Flag free of charge all day!
• Meet pirate reenactors and watch sword-fighting demonstrations.
• Learn about life aboard a sailing ship.
• Watch craftspeople build ships in bottles and forge iron nails.
• Tie a sailing knot and learn about the Sea Scouts.
• Navigate your way through a gallery hunt.
• Fold a model boat and create your own pirate flag.
